This show makes me think of this book and the theory. Each season we have stupid people who provoked an animalistic monster. I think this is what Cohen brothers tried to tell in his movie and this show just make the message perfectly clear. If you don’t have time to read it just read this part from the wikipage
“Arendt’s book introduced the expression and concept "the banality of evil”. Her thesis is that Eichmann was not a fanatic or sociopath, but an extremely average person who relied on cliché defenses rather than thinking for himself and was motivated by professional promotion rather than ideology. Banality, in this sense, is not that Eichmann’s actions were ordinary, or that there is a potential Eichmann in all of us, but that his actions were motivated by a sort of stupidity which was wholly unexceptional.“
This is exactly what the show is about mostly, and I always tell myself being pure and moral is extremely hard like a regular excise but instead of make you healthier it makes you struggle more. But everyone don’t keep themselves pure and moral, the world will be full of darkness and no one care.
