The main question that’s been bothering me so much about this show is why the hell Lester Nygaard and Ed Blumquist (and his wife) make the least intelligent choices at every opportunity to do so. I’m still in the middle of season 2 but I get the feeling that this trend will continue -_-
Other than that, I love the show. The fact that it’s not entirely true doesn’t bother me. It just seems like they’re trying to make almost all of their characters completely unlikeable. To use Solverson – from the first season – as an example, she’s incredibly infuriating. Even though she’s the only competent cop in the season, I can’t help but hate her. I guess she just comes across as whiny or bitchy rather than the competent cop she’s actually supposed to be. I feel bad for hating her, too. My threshold for arbitrary hatred is very high, so the fact that Solverson crossed it probably says more about the show than me. Who knows, maybe it’s just me.
Now that I’ve found out this isn’t a true story, I can rest easy. So, this post is less of a question and more of a rant. Gonna go continue watching the show.
